GET OVER IT DAY!
(Seriously, it's a real holiday. And it’s cooler than Arbor Day, Flag Day, and Groundhog’s
Day combined!)
GET OVER IT DAY™ is based on the idea that EVERYONE has SOMETHING to get over. Strategically
the exact midpoint between Valentine’s Day and April Fool’s Day, “Get Over It Day”
(March 9) is the day to finally get over that ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend, those
stressful school- or work-related issues, any fears, insecurities, embarrassing
moments, bad relationships, etc. [Editor's Note: If you're not sure what YOU have
to get over, just ask your friends what they're tired of hearing you complain about.]
Get Over It Day was first celebrated nationwide in 2006, but it was actually first
conceived back in 2005 (by Jeff Goldblatt, the guy who started The Rejection Hotline,
after it took him a little longer than he’d have liked to finally get over an ex-girlfriend).
Get Over It Day took off and became a legitimate pop-culture phenomenon in 2006
when national media outlets like ABC’s Good Morning America and ESPN’s SportsCenter
announced it to the world.
What are YOU getting over on March 9th? Have you tossed it in the GetOverItDay.com
Fire Pit yet?
